2nd Edition In Preparation!

We are organizing a second À nous le Plateau! open assembly where citizens will have the opportunity to develop together a vision to build a citizen and solidarity movement on the Plateau and share how they want to get involved in the development of collective solutions.

See the video announcing our previous edition which was a great success:

Come take part in its organization by joining us this Wednesday!

We invite you to join us on Wednesday June 10 at 1 p.m. for a virtual meeting, to help determine how to organize this assembly, reach an important number of people to have a good mobilization, to see if we want to do this meeting in a virtual way or in a park (respecting the social distancing instructions) or both, and if will it be the first of several meetings over the coming months.

Everyone is welcome!

To join us go to Jitsi: https://meet.jit.si/anousleplateau. No need to download the app and please note that the site performs better on Google Chrome (but also works on other browsers). It is possible to join the meeting by phone. A phone number will be generated this Wednesday and can be shared with you upon request and if you cannot attend the virtual meeting, your comments are always welcome, so write to us here.

See you soon!

Vermont Visit 2020

For the 2nd consecutive year, we are organizing a trip to the heart of direct democracy, the annual city halls in Vermont.

As last year, we will travel through several cities and towns in the Burlington region to attend various annual city halls where several decisions are made by direct democracy, with the citizens present! This visit was so inspiring last year that we decided to repeat it and open it to a wider audience!

You are warmly invited to join us!

Announcement of the Citizen Assembly “A nous le Plateau!”

Open forum and pre-election meeting between citizens and federal and municipal candidates

Join your neighbors on September 28 to create a vision for the Plateau!

Do you have opinions and ideas about how the Plateau is changing and what it means for the future of those who live and work here? You are not alone! Join your neighbors for an non-partisan open forum to identify issues facing Plateau residents and workers, explore solutions, and communicate with municipal and federal candidates and elected officials.

À nous le Plateau! is a citizens’ assembly where the participants determine the agenda. The first episode of this exercise in participatory democracy will take place just prior to the municipal and federal elections in October. In addition to addressing issues pertaining to municipal and federal policy, participants in this event can help plan future assemblies where neighbors can tackle more issues.

Join us for this event of a new kind!
